ESJ has seven Huddle Rooms which are intended for use by students. ESJ’s Huddle Rooms are small conference rooms available to all students, faculty, and staff. At least three people must be using the space in order to reserve. They can be reserved two weeks in advance, up to two hours at a time.
**ESJ will close at 10p on Tuesday, December 17 and resume standard hours. The Edward St. John Learning and Teaching Center (ESJ) features thirteen general purpose classrooms and nine state-of-the art chemistry teaching labs, complimented by a wide variety of informal collaborative learning and study spaces throughout the building.
7:00 AM - 10:00 AM. Saturday - Sunday. CLOSED. Those wishing to schedule weekend/off-hour events are required to utilize Conferences & Visitor Services. Please contact esj@umd.edu for more information.
Unique spaces for poster sessions and small gatherings to compliment an academic event already scheduled in the building. ESJ’s general spaces are not available for office parties or sit-down meals. Please email esj@umd.edu for more information.
Edward St. John Learning and Teaching Center (ESJ) supports academic classes, symposiums, lectures and meetings. The wide range of spaces can accommodate small gatherings as well as large lectures, and presentations.

ESJ employs UMDPD to do a nightly sweep of the building to ensure it is empty and secure following your event. Custodial staff will be assigned to your event based on size and scope, as determined by FM. (Weekday events may also incur a custodial charge.) C&VS will help coordinate your event in ESJ.
