Logo. The university’s visual identifier is a shape with a sharp upper left corner and three other rounded corners. Within the shape there is a capital “B,” which stands for Boston, and a silhouette of a beacon, the university’s symbol. It may not be changed in any way.

28 maj 2020 · UMass Boston athletic teams have been known as the Beacons since 1974. In 1982, an official logo was rendered. It remained for almost 20 years, but this friendly cartoon character failed to capture the drive and determination of UMass Boston's athletics.
UMass Boston’s enhanced visual identity will include a new brand mark that highlights the university’s connection to Boston and its mission and service as a beacon in urban higher education. The new visual identity will be highlighted in multiple marketing platforms, including billboards, broadcast, social and print media.
