12 maj 2019 · This is one of the first things to check for when evaluating a patient with ulnar sided wrist pain. First perform an ECU synergy test. The patient places their elbow at 90 degrees, the forearm is in full supination, the wrist is in neutral and the digits are in full extension.
Athletes can be immobilized for 3 wk in 30° wrist extension and ulnar deviation with a splint or short-arm plaster cast, or 6 wk with the wrist in pronation so that the ECU tendon sits comfortably within the ulnar groove . Athletes may enroll in a gradual rehabilitation program as tolerated by pain.
