28 sie 2020 · The second scam targets UIC international students. In this scam, a student receives a telephone call from an attacker who identifies as a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agent. The calling phone number is spoofed and appears as a legitimate phone number belonging to ICE (202-732-4646).
Odd phone number or web address – Scammers can do a lot to make it look like you are being contacted by a legitimate person or agency. Pay attention to details like the country code, caller ID spelling, and web addresses.

In particular, emails received on Sunday, May 13 with the subject “Subject: Re: Administrative Assistant” are part of a scam designed to trick students into sending money to the attackers.
