8 sty 2024 · As a Florida employer subject to UI (reemployment) tax, your small business must establish a Florida reemployment tax account with the Florida Department of Revenue (DOR). You must report your business's initial employment in the month following the calendar quarter in which employment begins.
You must file reports and pay taxes online through the Florida Department of Revenue if you paid reemployment taxes for 10 or more employees during any quarter of the prior state fiscal year. A fiscal year runs from July 1 through June 30 of that year.
The Florida Reemployment Tax is a tax paid by Florida employers. The tax collected from employers is deposited into the Unemployment Compensation Trust Fund for the purpose of paying Reemployment Assistance benefits to eligible claimants. Since 2000, the Florida Department of Revenue has administered the state’s Reemployment Tax.
