Honors students can enroll in special Honors sections or courses. Some courses may require students to attend both the regular section associated with the lecture and an Honors section. Typically, students earn an additional unit when they enroll in an Honors section.

Honors minimum GPAs for past graduating classes are listed below: Undergraduate Honors at Graduation. Fall 2023-Summer 2024. College of Engineering. College of Creative Studies. College of Letters & Science. Top 2.5%. Highest Honors. 3.98 GPA and above.
Upon UCSB Admission: The College of Engineering invites approximately the top 10% of incoming freshmen into the Honors Program based on a comprehensive review of the applicant. Select transfer students will be invited to join the Honors Program.
