The College and schools award Latin honors according to overall grade-point average (GPA) at graduation. Honors are reflected on official transcripts and diplomas. Eligible students must have completed at least 90 (98 for the School of Nursing) University of California units for a letter grade.

DARS only reflects eligibility for Latin Honors if you have the GPA AND 90 graded UC units. This means that for transfer students who have at least 76 graded units and have the GPA, DARS will still indicate that they are not eligible for Latin Honors.
In order for transfer students to be eligible for Latin honors, they need to meet 2 criteria: 1. Have at least 76 graded UC units. 2. Meet the GPA benchmarks for Latin Honors. For students who are graduating Fall 2018, Winter 2019, Spring 2019 and Summer 2019, the GPA benchmarks are: 3.910 for summa cum laude. 3.837 for magna cum laude.
Students can find their current major upper division courses GPA on the Degree Audit Report System (DARS) under the section titled “Major Upper Division Courses GPA Requirement.” • Take each course in the major for a letter grade.
