The Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) program is a professional, graduate degree program that is accredited by the American Library Association. Students can pursue a course-based or thesis-based degree on a full-time or part-time basis.
Current and admitted students must check Bear Tracks for timetables, course availability, and delivery mode (online or on-campus). Questions should be directed to the Graduate Program Administrator at slis@ualberta.ca. All SLIS students are required to take the five (5) core courses plus two (2) IT-designated courses.

The School of Library and Information Studies (SLIS) is part of the Faculty of Education, and offers the only Master of Library and Information Studies program on the Canadian prairies that is accredited by the American Library Association (ALA).
