I think Renpy's better in all situations. Extremely easy to get a game running; you just write some super easy to read script, add some image and music commands, and run it. It's not in a graphical UI, but that doesn't mean it's hard.

I've got both and found I got a lot further with Ren'py - I prefer it's text editor approach rather than the clumsy visual editing approach of Tyranobuilder.
Throwing this out there - I'm not familiar with TyranoBuilder so I do not know if you can easily change the resolution in it. While RenPy provides an easy way when you create the game to pick between two resolutions, you can simply edit the files and set the resolution to anything you want.

13 mar 2024 · I'm in the midst of creating a visual novel that heavily emphasizes artistic elements. From the research I've conducted, Ren'Py appears to be a fitting choice for my project due to its capabilities. However, I'm finding the programming side of it quite challenging to grasp.
