Now, I like all 3 for different applications, but for pure VNs I think Ren'Py is the best choice if you're willing to commit to learning it and how it works; but if you just want to build something really quickly with little customization, then Tyranobuilder could work for you.

I think Renpy's better in all situations. Extremely easy to get a game running; you just write some super easy to read script, add some image and music commands, and run it. It's not in a graphical UI, but that doesn't mean it's hard.
19 gru 2015 · Ren’py is a purely script-based engine aimed at programmers and presents rather a steep learning curve for anyone without an understanding of Python, while TyranoBuilder is made to be accessible to anyone, from people with absolutely zero programming experience to experienced visual novel creators.
Throwing this out there - I'm not familiar with TyranoBuilder so I do not know if you can easily change the resolution in it. While RenPy provides an easy way when you create the game to pick between two resolutions, you can simply edit the files and set the resolution to anything you want.

21 paź 2020 · Between the two, Ren'Py wins hands down. That said: I recommend taking a look at TyranoBuilder. It's not as slick but it's stable, much cheaper and lets you do more with its tools. Even with a visual-based editor, every tool has a learning curve including TM.
