After downloading windows updates (which were about 50 critical updates) it asked me to restart. After restarting the Login Screen would not display - just the mouse on the blue screen. 8 sie 2012 · As far as I know, there is no way to get the “Log on to” drop-down on the Windows 7 login screen. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you’re going to have to adapt your behavior to the features of the new OS (and not the other way around…).
When you see either the Welcome Screen or the Log On To Windows dialog box, select or type the name you used for the new account. As soon as you do, Windows XP will create a user profile for the new account.
