Some people have asked for help on how to properly size gifs and edits when creating tumblr posts. So I’m going to try and explain it (in crazy detail!) here. It’s going to get complicated bc tumblr sucks, but please bear with me. BASICS 1.
I have gotten many, many asks before about how I gif and I finally decided to make a tutorial. This is going to be very long, very image heavy and with a lot of details and examples. I mean it, I’m going through every, single aspect of giffing that I can possibly think of.
Maximum limits for images/GIFs. Each post can contain a maximum of: 10 images/GIFs when posted from the apps. 30 images/GIFs when posted from the web. Troubleshooting images. When posting a static image: Make sure the file is no larger than 20 MB and is in either JPEG, PNG, or WEBP format.
8 mar 2024 · According to Tumblr Help Center, the recommended GIF size should be no more than 3 MB because GIFs under 3 MB won’t be compressed. And the maximum GIF size is 10 MB. If you upload a GIF that exceeds 5 MB, Tumblr will try the best to compress the file download for you.
2 lip 2022 · to copy stuff to your shared drive just press ctrl+c (or the mac equivalent) to copy the videos and ctrl+v to paste it into your drive. for tv shows, you can’t copy folders, so open up the folder and select all the episodes and paste them over in a new folder on your drive - that should work fine!

9 mar 2021 · The width and height of your gifs can pretty much be anything and Tumblr will shrink or stretch accordingly as long as your gif is under 8 MB. These are the widths tumblr shrinks the gifs to (which is what I use for my gif widths usually): ‣ For one gif per line a 540px width is used. ‣ For two gifs per line a 268px width is used.
