15 gru 2023 · The incubation period of tularaemia is usually 3–5 days but may range from 1-21 days depending on the mode of infection and the infective dose. Tularemia is often a long and debilitating disease. Early signs of the disease are influenza-like (e.g. fever, fatigue, chills, headache).

Tularemia is a febrile disease caused by the gram-negative bacterium Francisella tularensis; it may resemble typhoid fever. There are 7 clinical syndromes associated with tularemia (see table Types of Tularemia); clinical manifestations vary by the type of exposure to the organism.

The genus Francisella comprises seven species, including F tularensis, which is divided into four subspecies: tularensis (type A strains), holarctica (type B strains), mediasiatica, and novicida. The subspecies tularensis and holarctica are the main cause of tularaemia worldwide.
Objawy. Po okresie inkubacji trwającym 3-5 dni, pojawia się wysoka gorączka, dreszcze, bóle głowy, mięśni, osłabienie, wymioty, powiększenie węzłów chłonnych, objawy zapalenia gardła, zapalenia płuc. Może dochodzić do sepsy. Rozpoznanie tularemii na podstawie objawów klinicznych jest bardzo trudne. Zapobieganie.
