Our objective is to map tripolitic high porosity chert sweet spots within a highly fractured Mississippian lime reservoir, located in Osage County, Oklahoma, which also contains tight nonporous chert using impedance inversion correlated with surface seismic attributes and well log information in the survey.
Instead of defining the facies stratigraphically, we need to define them either diagenetically (tight limestone, stratified limestone and nonporous chert, and highly porous tripolitic chert) or structurally (fractured versus unfractured chert and limestone).
30 cze 2021 · Tripolite is a distinct chert reservoir facies that has been diagenetically altered and linked to the migration of hydrothermal fluids or paleowater decalcification (Manger, 2014; T. McGilvery, personal communication, 2019).
1 wrz 2021 · Tripolitic chert is a diagenetically altered form of cherts which show high porosity and low resistivity.
1 sty 2019 · The main reservoir rock, tripolitic chert, primarily formed by in situ karst development of subaerial highs (e.g., sponge bioherms and cherty limestone) followed by silica replacement of calcite and partial to complete dissolution of the remaining calcite to form secondary porosity.
4 kwi 2018 · Tripolitic chert is a product of the highstand calcisiltites at the base of the upper Boone Formation of Arkansas, and its equivalent, the Elsey Formation of southern Missouri. This tripolitic chert appears to reflect a hydrothermal event likely occurring after the emplacement processes of both Boone cherts that had ended by Chesterian time.
26 paź 2018 · The Mississippian Limestone formed through complex structural, stratigraphic, and diagenetic processes involving subsidence, tectonic uplift leading to periodic subaerial exposure, changes in ocean chemistry, variability inherent with carbonate cyclicity, as well as postdepositional alteration.
