The modern Danish people (Danskere) is made up of the proper Danes (Daner) on the numerous islands, and the Jutes (Jyder) on the Jutland peninsula, if recent immigrants, etc., are ignored. The original Danes were a Nordic tribe, while the original Jutes were a Germanic tribe. The Danes are of Dan, and the Jutes are of Judah and Dan.
The Tribe of Dan was represented by a snake or by a lion. Other accepted symbols of Dan were a pair of scales, an eagle, and a dragon. Many members of Dan settled in Denmark, in Ireland, in Wales, England, and the U.S.A. where 40-50 million people have Irish ancestry.
Nevertheless, most of the Danes of Denmark pertain to Dan. We also find descendants of Dan in northeast England, in southwest and west Britain, and in Ireland. In Biblical times there were two main centers of Dan, one on the coast by Jaffo (Joppa) and the other in the Galilee as well as other enclaves of Dan further north.
The Tribe of Dan (Hebrew: דָּן, "Judge") was one of the twelve tribes of Israel, according to the Torah. According to the Hebrew Bible, the tribe initially settled in the hill lands bordering Judah and the Philistines but migrated north due to pressure of their enemies, settling at Laish (later known as Dan), near Mount Hermon. [1]
The tribe of Dan is, as the only tribe of Israel, not among the sealed 144,000 male Israelites (Revelation 7:4-8) that are going to reign with the Lamb and God. Revelation does simply not state why the tribe of Dan is not among the 144,000.
At first the Tribe of Dan received an inheritance around the area of Joppa (modern Jaffa- Tel Aviv). Most of the inheritance of Dan in the south was to be lost to the Amorites and Philistines and later regained by the Israelite Tribes of Ephraim and Judah BUT NOT DAN.
The Tribe of Dan: Dan was the fifth of Jacob’s sons and was born to him by his concubine Bilhah. The tribe of Dan consisted of just the one family: The family of Shuchami (AV Shuhamites) who were named after שׁוּחָם Shucham son of Dan (Num. 26:42-3).
