By changing the angle of the skid plate, the trencher can operate at one of three depth settings. The skid plate is secured by 2 nuts to studs on the main body as indicated by the arrows. 3 pairs of mounting holes in the skid plate allow the trenching depth to be set as shown in the diagrams below.
