20 sty 2020 · Abram settled by the terebinth trees of Mamre about two miles north of Hebron. A well-watered and fertile area situated around 3,000 feet above sea level, it was an ideal location and became Abram’s primary residence for the remainder of his life.

It was at the oaks, or great trees of Mamre, that God's covenant with Abraham, which would affect the entire world, would be carried out. It's an amazing and unique event that is the most important covenant in the Bible.

He settles there by the oaks or great trees belonging to Mamre, an Amorite man who will be revealed as an ally of Abram in chapter 14. Abram built an altar to the Lord, Yahweh, in this place. He would continue his worship of God there.
