1 maj 2023 · In this tentative agreement, PSAC has secured a fair contract for members that exceeds the employer’s original offer before the launch of strike action, and provides wage increases above the recommendations of the Public Interest Commission as well as those negotiated by other federal bargaining agents.
The 2023 Canadian federal worker strike was a strike by Canadian federal workers who are members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC). The strike took place between April 19 and May 3, 2023, although the Treasury Board bargaining units ended their strike on May 1.
As such, Treasury Board directly negotiates compensation for about 166,000 unionized employees with their respective bargaining agents and determines compensation for the non-unionized employees. The core public administration, along with separate agencies, constitutes the public service, which totals about 262,800 employees.
