The residence is a small palace that the king lives in while he visits. As long as there is a residence or palace in the village, it can never be captured. The residence is required to be able to gain another village (either by settling or conquering) because it can give up to two expansion slots.
A Palace has 3 expansion slots, whereas a Residence has only 2. A Palace has an expansion slot at L10, L15 and L20, whereas Residence is at L10 and L20. A Palace costs a lot more than Residence at the first expansion slot, but at the 2nd and 3rd expansion slot, it is cheaper than a Residence slot 2.
21 lis 2013 · Build a level 1 residence in village three (for the village protection only) and then in village two, upgrade the Palace from level 10 to level 15. Then from village two, build settlers and settle village four.
One super trick is to attack oasis and make your hero hp as low as possible, and then lvl up using day 1 quest (50exp) and exp from village quest. Your aim is to get 24-48k AT LEAST , preferable 48k+ in your first day.
In T5 (kingdoms), you will get the quest that levels up your residence / palace to 10 immediately after reaching lvl 5. To maximize the quest value, start with a palace, destroy nothing, and continue it to lvl 15 after settling the 2nd village.
I recommend you settle a nice 9 cropper (thats a village that has 9 crop fields). Ask a friend that uses the gold club to find it if you dont have it activated, or just scroll around with your mouse and look for the magical 3-3-3-9 to appera.
