The Transfăgărășan (Trans•fagara• shan) or DN7C is a national-level paved mountain road crossing the southern section of the Carpathian Mountains of Romania. The name Trans Fagarasan means across Fagaras or Fagaras crossing, after the Făgăraș Mountains which the road traverses.

The road’s official name is Drumul National 7C (DN7C), but everybody knows it as the Transfagarasan (not to be confused with its sister road and competitor – Transalpina.
Welcome to the Transfăgărășan Road! Stretching over 150 kilometers, the Transfagarasan stands as Romania’s most renowned and breathtaking roadway. Thanks to a feature on BBC Top Gear back in 2009, it has earned its place as one of the nation’s premier tourist destinations.
11 sty 2024 · As of the 7th of June 2024, the Transfăgărășan is fully open and can be safely traversed. It is possible to drive through the alpine area, between Bâlea Cascadă (Sibiu County) and Piscul Negru (Argeș County) between 07:00 – 21:00. 🚗 Road Conditions.
27 sie 2024 · The Transfagarasan is a mountain pass in Europe so naturally, it gets snow during wintertime. The Romanian road authorities close the road for traffic between November 1st and July 1st. Those are the official dates. If they're getting snow earlier than expected, they'll close earlier.
