Galvatron is a force of nature. As being upgraded by the machinations of Unicron, he is a focal point of power and madness given form. Galvatron is blind to all but his lust for power and his whims and desires can be sacrificed in a moment's rage.
G1 cartoon and movie. Transformers: The Movie. In 2005, Megatron fell in battle against Optimus Prime during the Decepticons' failed assault on Autobot City. During their flight back to Cybertron aboard Astrotrain, the Decepticons jettisoned their wounded into deep space, including Megatron.
Despite being crazy, he still managed to be leader of the Decepticons. If it wasn't for the amazing blind loyalty of his second in command Cyclonus, Galvatron's troops would have overthrown him and followed a new leader. He was "forged in the fires of Unicron" along with Cyclonus, Scourge and the original Sweeps.
