The Town of Hempstead Receiver of Taxes Credit Card and Electronic Check Payment Systems. Tax bills are issued twice a year, once in January for the General Tax Bill, and once in October for the School Tax Bill. You can view the 2024-2025 payment schedule on the graphic to the right:
Welcome to the online Receiver of Taxes office. This office collects taxes for Nassau County, the Town of Hempstead, 99 special districts, and 33 school districts and disburses the monies to school district treasurers and other districts without charge.
Enter the Tax Bill Number from a recent tax bill, or if you do not have your bill number available, you can search for your property by entering the Property Description (School District, Section, Block, and Lot Numbers).
The Town of Hempstead now offers taxpayers the option of having their property tax bills delivered electronically via email, instead of through the U.S. Mail. Taxpayers also have the option to continue receiving paper tax bills in addition to receiving e-Bills.
