I like to use torchlight and (Blossom and Root) for scaffolding and book lists. I will pull ideas from it and get a general direction from how it works. But I prefer a more direct approach with curriculums that offer workbooks. Example, for first grade, I have a copy of torchlight where I will use some of their ideas and time line.

It is an age-appropriate, holistic learning program that doesn’t expect you to draw a line between learning academic content and your life in general.
