Anyone know of any Japanese restaurants that are pretty authentic and are comparable to food from Japan? Taisho Bistro has several homestyle Japanese dishes, yakitori, and sushi. They're my favorite Japanese restaurant locally. Went to Japan for our honeymoon 7 years ago. Avoid the ramen. Their menu is a bit too big to make good ramen.

For some creative dishes, Kuni's is great. For plain tuna/salmon/yellowtail sashimi and nigiri, Wasabi few blocks down blows Kuni's out of the water. Kuni's has smaller cuts of sashimi and it's no better quality than Wasabi and for nigiri, for some reason, Kuni's doesn't season their rice.
