Jennifer is Tlingit of the Eagle Kaagwaantaan clan and now calls Sitka, Alaska home. Jennifer draws inspiration from traditional Tlingit formline designs, historic artifacts, spruce root basket weaving patterns, and from the contrast and texture of metals.
Jean Taylor, whose Tlingit name is Khàsx’ än Tlä, is from the Dakh† awèdi Clan of the Teslin Tlingit Nation in Teslin, Yukon Territory. She is also a member of the Tlingit Haida Central Council of Alaska. Jean has traveled extensively to train one on one with painters she admires.
James Johnson is an award-winning Tlingit artist and carver, born and raised in Juneau, Alaska. He belongs to the Tlingit Ch’áak’ Dakl’aweidi Clan (Eagle Killerwhale). James’s great-great-grandfather was Chief Gusht’eiheen (“Spray off the Dorsal Fin”) of the Dakl’aweidi of the Xutsnoowú Kwáan (Angoon, Alaska).
