Ok so I’m not sure it works completely, haven’t tried it out yet, but all you need to do is go to the files button, click versions, click Optifine 1.17.1, click the .json file, and then search for the code “skinVersion”. Once you find it, see if it says true or false.

The json file where your version for 1.17 is, theres probably a line for a skin or smth, enable that. you gotta wait a few more days till they update it and add the tl icon. The easiest way, ofc, use Mojang/Microsoft account. Some server also give you feature /skin to change your skins and visible to other players.
