Blepharoplasty, sometimes referred to as eyelid surgery, requires a recovery period during the first week swelling and bruises are somewhat typical. Although most patients return to regular activities within 10 to 14 days, eyelid surgery can cause complete recovery times ranging from several weeks.
Upper eyelid surgery can take 30 minutes to an hour, while a lower eyelid surgery takes slightly longer, unless only a transconjunctival approach is used. If fat transfer is also performed, this can add about 30 minutes.
