9 cze 2022 · We examine characteristics of the seasonal variation of thermospheric composition using column number density ratio ∑O/N 2 observed by the NASA Global Observations of Limb and Disk (GOLD) mission from low-mid to mid-high latitudes.
21 wrz 2023 · With the launch of the Global-scale Observations of the Limb and Disk (GOLD) mission, spatial variations of the thermospheric composition (Σ O / N2) and temperature can be investigated. In this work, we defined the hemispheric asymmetry indexes of thermospheric composition and temperature and investigated their local time (LT), latitude, and ...
16 mar 2022 · In this paper, we show that a simple arithmetic sum of the solar and geomagnetic indices can explain a large part of the day-to-day Texo variability. Also, Texo has good (poor) correlation with thermospheric parameters such as temperature and density above ∼130 km (at ∼100 km).
5 sie 2011 · Atmospheric drag on satellites varies strongly as a function of thermospheric mass density. Errors in estimating density cause orbit prediction error, and impact satellite operations including accurate catalog maintenance, collision avoidance for manned and unmanned space flight, and re-entry prediction.
21 lis 2022 · The Michelson Interferometer for Global High-resolution Thermospheric Imaging (MIGHTI) was launched aboard NASA’s Ionospheric Connection (ICON) Explorer satellite in October 2019 to measure winds and temperatures on the limb in the upper mesosphere and lower thermosphere (MLT).
