I think it depends on how it's reported and where you're starting as to if it's going to help or hurt. If it's listed as a debt over the term lease that's being paid down it will hurt your Debt to Income ratio (DTI) and your score could go down if you already have a credit history.

In 2018, I filed a consumer proposal through a LIT to pay back debt to 5 different creditors. RBC was one of them. In 2019, i paid it off. I submitted my certificate of full performance to both Equifax and TransUnion and the debt was "removed" from my credit report.
7 mar 2023 · Would it be inaccurate reporting if today a creditor reports an account as CURRENTLY 30 days past due (which was late in January), even though the account is currently paid as agreed? I stupidly forgot to pay my January mortgage until the 31st day.
