Chapter 2 Summary. The pilot leads a lonely life up until the moment (now six years ago) that he has to crash land in the Sahara Desert: his engine is not working, he only has enough water for eight days, and he has no one with him to help repair the plane.
The real story begins in the second chapter when the narrator meets the Little Price in the desert after his airplane has crashed there. With his small build, wavy hair, and child-like innocence, he does not seem to be a human, but a visitor from another planet.
Chapter 1. Once when I was six years old I saw a magnificent picture in a book, called True Stories from Nature, about the primeval forest. It was a picture of a boa constrictor in the act of swallowing an animal. Here is a copy of the drawing.
