The last group tour as the Jackson 5, was held in Manila, Philippines, in February 1976, less than a month after their contract expires and the Motown Jackson 5 officially call themselves the Jacksons.
Widely hailed as his breakthrough performance as a solo artist, Michael's solo performance followed the Jackson 5 performance. Michael danced while singing to prerecorded vocals of "Billie Jean", which at the time was in the middle of a seven-week run atop the Billboard Hot 100 music charts and was the only non-Motown song performed on the show.
