The Flume is a natural gorge extending 800 feet at the base of Mount Liberty. The walls of Conway granite rise to a height of 70 to 90 feet and are 12 to 20 feet apart. The Flume Trail is a 2-mile loop starting at the check-in booths located in front of the Flume Building.

The Flume Gorge is a 2+ mile hike in Franconia Notch. It’s an easy hike along graded gravel trails and boardwalks. There is a $20 ticket fee, which is steep for a hike at a state park. But the Gorge is amazing and beautiful - a narrow channel of waterfalls and rapids between sheer cliff walls.
You can save a few dollars (for both adults and kids) and you can get Flume Gorge tickets here. Sometimes tickets for Flume Gorge sell out and if you don’t have a reservation, you won’t be able to get one in person (I just wouldn’t risk that).
