While the online version of the statutes contain only the language of the law, the Thurgood Marshall School of Law Library has a complete set of Vernon's Texas Codes Annotated which is available for patrons to use in the library.

The Penal Code and Code of Criminal Procedure were completed in 1856. The civil statutes followed in 1879.
