The Texas Statutes represent a comprehensive compilation of legal provisions that establish the legal framework governing the state of Texas.
14 paź 2024 · Bills that become law are arranged by subject matter into various codes such as the Election Code, Family Code, and Penal Code. These statutes are published online by the Texas Legislative Council. They are also available in print from private publishers.
Most Texas statutes today are arranged into 27 topical codes (see box at left), which are the result of many decades of legislative enactment and revision of law. In 1963, the legislature charged the Texas Legislative Council with conducting an ongoing nonsubstantive revision of the 1925 statutes.
