Pirate Staff - It’s a good minion, and I highly recommend it against crowds or ground targets. Good AI, good damage, and good consistency against things it can reach.
I want to know if I should upgrade from the Optic Staff to something better (pre-Pumpkin Moon and Fishron summoning equipment). Which Staff do you prefer and why? Pygmy, Optic, or Pirate?
From my experience, blade staff needs work to be better. As in both +5 piercing accessories then it begins to stack up to some of the hardmode summons. Whereas the optic staff has more minions and probable better damage potential. Summary... Farming events in a safe spot? Blade staff... General use Optic staff

27 maj 2020 · If you spend a lot of time in the air, pygmy and pirates are kinda crap. If you want single target damage, pygmies are awesome. Pirates are kinda crap, it's like slime staff 2.0. Optic is horrible vs. single target, but amazing for events and as a bodyguard, when exploring and such. #4.
