The pantorouter needs a template for the guide bearing to roll around, guiding the router bit so that it can cut away everything but the tenon from the end of a piece of wood. Calculating the tenon template size is best done by calculating the size of the arc that the router bit has to move around to leave a tenon of the right thickness.

7 lip 2023 · The router table works well for mortises up to 1⁄4" wide. With mortises larger than that, I find I have better control by plunging the bit into the work with a plunge router rather than plunging the work onto the bit.
If you use a router table, you can cut the tenons with either a slot-cutting bit or with a mortising bit, and a cross slide. With the appropriate bit installed, set the length of the tenon by fixing a stop block to the cross slide and making one cut on each face.
