Important information outlined below pertains to the process of vehicle registration, deregistration and its temporary withdrawal from road traffic, institutions authorized to register vehicles, documents necessary for this purpose, as well as charges and fees incurred by vehicle users.
9 paź 2024 · From 1 February 2022, you can keep your existing registration number if you apply for the re-registration of a used vehicle purchased in Poland. You can do this if the plates are white and have the EU marking (stars on a blue background).
A vehicle registration can be temporarily registered for a maximum of 30 days. This period may be extended once for additional 14 days in order to clarify issues related to vehicle registration (in accordance with Article 74 (3) of the Road Traffic Act).

25 cze 2024 · We will also issue a temporary permit, which is valid for 30 days. During this time, it replaces your vehicle registration card. Insure your vehicle no later than on the date of registration. The Polish Securities Printing House (PWPW) will prepare your vehicle registration card within 30 days.
After submitting the documents above, a clerk will immediately issue the so-called temporary vehicle registration card (valid for 30 days). After 1-3 weeks the so-called permanent vehicle registration card will be issued.
With the above, the urzad will be able to produce a temporary Vehicle Registration document and replacement plates on the same day - possibly within an hour, depending of the office. Temporary plates apply if the vehicle does not currently have a przeglad (the road worthiness test) and cost extra.
