24 sty 2024 · Telomerase gene therapy is an emerging approach that seeks to address cellular aging by directly modulating telomerase activity in cells. In an in vivo study conducted in mice, telomerase gene therapy using an adeno-associated virus to express TERT led to significant health improvements and reduced aging markers without elevating cancer incidence.

15 maj 2012 · Promoting healthspan in mice using a telomerase gene therapy. Delivery of telomerase (TERT) using rAAV suppresses aging associated telomere erosion and extends short telomeres in a variety of mouse tissues. Consequently, animals display improved healthspan and extended lifespan.
