After Moana restores the Heart of Te Fiti by returning it to Te Kā, which causes her to become Te Fiti, the island of Motunui is restored when Te Fiti restored all life on the island; Moana reunites with her parents and the other villagers who are happy to see her home.
The development name for Te Kā/Te Fiti, "Te Po", means "the dark one" in the same language. "Kā" is also a possessive particle in most Polynesian languages, which fits the character's loss of identity.
Moana is our heroine in Disney’s epic animated feature, whilst Te Kā is the giant, fiery villain. Whilst these two characters are very much creations of Disney, they too have some basis in ancient myth.

Te Fiti is a goddess with the power to create life in Disney's 2016 animated feature film Moana. After her heart had been stolen by the demigod Maui, she became Te Kā, a demon manifested of fire and magma, as well as the main antagonist of the film.
