5 kwi 2017 · For 20 years now the Tartan 37 has maintained a reputation as a soundly constructed, nicely finished, well-mannered, and moderately priced yacht-- a reputation it deserves on each count. Construction of the Tartan 37 utilizes balsa wood core material in both the hull and decks.
8 sty 2014 · Boat Review: Tartan 37 We're getting ready to buy a new (or new to us) boat back in the States next year so we've been researching various options that fit our criteria: (1) cheap and cheerful, (2) between 35-38' (maybe even smaller), (3) a sloop with a shoal draft and (4) two cabins and a U-shaped galley aft.
We've had our Tartan 37 for 12 years. She's a 1979 boat, and other than normal maintenance and age-related replacements she's been trouble free. She sails like a dream and is still, IMHO, the prettiest girl at the dance. A lot will depend on the care given any boat by a prior owner, but the Tartan 37 is in general a very good value. Tom
