Tier 1 or T-1 Combat system is a turn-based combat system that is most widely accepted and utilized in the Roleplay Combat community. It revolves around both the abilities of your character as well as your own combat proficiency, strategy, and knowledge of realism.
T1 is probably the hardest way to role-play if you are not good at being descriptive. T1 is turn-based, so you have to wait for your opponent to finish typing his/her attack. It is also paragraph fighting. In a T1 match, your opponent can strike you. You have the ability to reverse the attack or take the hit and come back with one of your own.
There are four types of ‘turn’ that a player can make in a T1 fight: Prep, Attack, Defense and Connection. The fight is split in to 'tiers' which often consist of some/all of the aforementioned turns. A tier begins when a prep or attack is posted and ends when either a successful defense or connect is posted.
This Ruleset is intended to represent what turn-based logic was remembered as. This rule set has been approved and seen by some of the most seasoned players in the art of T1 fighting, tracing back to AOL, AIM, etc.
