Swan-Ganz catheters were readily positioned for measurement of pulmonary artery and pulmonary capillary pressures. The relationships between pulmonary and LV pressures were analyzed with regard to (1) absolute pressure levels, (2) sudden changes in pressures (after angiography), and (3) the hemodynamic factors influencing these relationships.
