I've been listening for a couple of months now and I'm loving the ambient drone stuff, especially ØØ Void, but it just occurred to me that I have no idea what the crowd would be doing at a show. Also feel free to recommend other stuff similar :)
29 mar 2024 · Drone metal and the legendary Sunn O))) specifically is one of those bridging areas. Tonight’s audience is a fascinatingly varied mismatch of seasoned metalheads, experimental indie kids and erstwhile lovers of avant-garde jazz.
Sunn O))), High on Fire, Corrosion of Conformity and Black Breath. Drove down from northern California and unfortunately missed Void ov Voices but got to see CoC in their trio lineup. Black breath was great and HoF was pure energy.

I love listening to Sunn O))) at home and such but live is basically the definitive experience. You’re not really getting the full idea of what it is they do if you never go to a show. So, yeah, if you like them more than a little, go experience Sunn O))) for the first time.
