It sounds like the usual advice is that if the problem is addressed early enough, it's cheap to fix either DIY or at a mechanic and not a serious threat to the engine.

  6. 8 lut 2023 · The cam cover is removable - take it off and clean it. If it were my engine, I would also remove the VANOS and do the seals. While it is out clean it thoroughly with kerosene.

  7. 3 lut 2023 · The gaskets get hard over time, and let oil seep through. If it bothers you, and good PM, be fine just changing the gasket out. If you wanted, the OEM plastic one new is like $300.
