28 wrz 2012 · Last week, my wife's cousins from Styria, in eastern Austria, came to stay with us and brought us some dark green pumpkinseed oil, which is a regional specialty. They also brought a recipe for a chiffon cake made with the oil. The recipe couldn't be simpler (and it's also an amazing taste when accompanied by a good beer):1.
Grease the cake tin and coat with bread crumbs, preheat the oven to 175°C. Separate the eggs, beat the egg whites with some sugar until it forms stiff peaks. Beat the egg yolks with the rest of the sugar, the vanilla sugar until creamy. Stir in the Styrian Pumpkin Seed Oil P.G.I. and the lemon juice.

25 maj 2011 · It is made by pressing roasted, hulled pumpkin seeds (pepitas), from a local variety of pumpkin, the "Styrian oil pumpkin" (Cucurbita pepo var. styriaca, also known as var. oleifera). It has been produced and used in Styria's southern parts at least since the 18th century.
