Neighborhood Fishin' sites currently being stocked regularly. The locations listed below will be regularly stocked with catfish or rainbow trout. Catfish are stocked from mid-April through October each year. No catfish stockings will occur during August due to high water temperatures.
Neighborhood Fishin' is a program for Texans in urban areas who want to go fishing close to home. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department works with local governments and private partners to stock catfish (April through October, except in August) and rainbow trout (late November to early March) in small neighborhood lakes.
Stocking Public Waters. Each year, the Inland and Coastal Fisheries divisions of Texas Parks and Wildlife Department stock approximately 40 million fish in public lakes, ponds, and saltwater bays. Many of these fish are produced in the state's three saltwater and five freshwater hatcheries.
