28 maj 2019 · Steelskin is a new defensive skill which is available very early in the game. It instantly hardens your skin, granting a damage barrier that absorbs 70% of all damage taken. It has a maximum amount of damage that it can absorb, which increases as the gem levels.
So CWDT on a guard skill will activate it when you need it. Using it on a leftclick increases uptime, but reduces value. If you don't want to get chipped to death, then just get more recovery.
As part of changes to make early game combat more active, we're introducing the new Steelskin skill, and are changing Molten Shell and Immortal Call. So probably not intended to be that used by the top 0.01% of players that clear t16 maps in two minutes.

There currently are five guard skills: Molten Shell (and Vaal Molten Shell) Immortal Call. Steelskin. Arcane Cloak. Bone Armour (Necromancer only, basically Steelskin) The vast majority of players in SC and HC run Molten Shell / VMS, it is the best guard skill for most builds, typically more than doubling EHP.

2 mar 2024 · Guard S kills. Every build needs to use a Guard Skill. You can have only one active on you at a time, but they provide invaluable defence. Molten Shell or Steelskin provide a bubble of damage absorption. When using Molten Shell you need to have >10k Armour. Steelskin should be put on Left Mouse Button (LMB) to auto-cast when you move.
