Ideally, you want to use guard skill right before taking a lot of damage. Most deaths in maps are caused by multiple weak hits, not oneshots. So CWDT on a guard skill will activate it when you need it.
This is a PERFECT opportunity to make the counterattack skills (Vengeance, Reckoning, Riposte) better. Give them all bonuses when you've used a Guard skill recently!

15 sie 2023 · If you're bad at remembering to use a Guard Skill consider triggering it with Cast when Damage Taken Support or putting it on Left Click. If your build lacks Armor and Mana instead consider Steelskin which gives immunity to Bleeding, and grants an absorb to increase your effective health pool.
