28 maj 2019 · Steelskin is a new defensive skill which is available very early in the game. It instantly hardens your skin, granting a damage barrier that absorbs 70% of all damage taken. It has a maximum amount of damage that it can absorb, which increases as the gem levels.
Ideally, you want to use guard skill right before taking a lot of damage. Most deaths in maps are caused by multiple weak hits, not oneshots. So CWDT on a guard skill will activate it when you need it. Using it on a leftclick increases uptime, but reduces value. If you don't want to get chipped to death, then just get more recovery.
As part of changes to make early game combat more active, we're introducing the new Steelskin skill, and are changing Molten Shell and Immortal Call. So probably not intended to be that used by the top 0.01% of players that clear t16 maps in two minutes.
Level 20 cwdt requires 3.2k damage. Level 20 steelskin covers 2.2k damage at 70% mitigation, meaning you're taking up to 1k damage to life in that time. So as long as you have 4.2k life or more, L20 cwdt with steelskin is perfectly fine.
