28 maj 2019 · Steelskin is a new defensive skill which is available very early in the game. It instantly hardens your skin, granting a damage barrier that absorbs 70% of all damage taken. It has a maximum amount of damage that it can absorb, which increases as the gem levels.
As part of changes to make early game combat more active, we're introducing the new Steelskin skill, and are changing Molten Shell and Immortal Call. So probably not intended to be that used by the top 0.01% of players that clear t16 maps in two minutes.
In our lead-up to Legion's launch, we wanted to reveal more information about these skills and how they work! Steelskin is a new defensive skill which is available very early in the game. It instantly hardens your skin, granting a damage barrier that absorbs 70% of all damage taken.
Level 20 cwdt requires 3.2k damage. Level 20 steelskin covers 2.2k damage at 70% mitigation, meaning you're taking up to 1k damage to life in that time. So as long as you have 4.2k life or more, L20 cwdt with steelskin is perfectly fine.
CWDT > Steelskin or IC > duration plus one or two of: Curse, Golem, Wave of Conviction or other Exposure source. Can also ride in some contexts: CWDT > Phase Run > Frost Wall Flesh and Stone sand stance is severely underrated.
